Stimulates the growth of
liver cells and prevents free radical damage to liver
cells. Silymarin increases the level of glutathione
(GSH) in liver cells by 35%. GSH helps the liver to
detoxify many toxins from pesticides to heavy metals. |
| Indications |
Hepatitis, alcoholic liver
disease, cirrhosis, athereosclerosis, gallbladder disease,
psoriasis, immunodepression. |
| Contraindications |
St John's Wort should not
be used with any SSRI medication such as amitryptaline
or imiprimine. |

effects |
It may cause loose stools
as it increases bile flow. |
